Good Morning. No, I don't want you to think of the greeting, but a good morning.
My good morning starts early, before everyone gets up and moves into the kitchen catching me checking for bits of kibbles that fell on the floor off the stove.
It is cool outside and mom or dad get up and let me outside for my morning salute to nature. Then I retire back to my bed while they make coffee. Oh, and I like coffee.
then it is time for whoever is not up to get up. Usually it is grandma. I have to patiently remind her about my morning treat which I scarf down cleaning up the crumbs after myself.
Then there is breakfast! Mom usually makes toast and that is shared with me, especially when I give her my "I am not worthy" look. There is also a chance that I will get bacon or sausage too.
Finally I can talk mom and dad into a walk. If mom doesn't feel like going, I will let her talk to dad about the walk for me. Never the less, I get to go for my walk. Most mornings, the sun is out and not too hot for me. I have started to take notice that everywhere we go for a walk has water for me to wade and splash in and tree and trails too.
I will run and play until someone says it is time to go home. then it is back in the car, thanking whoever for the fun in the water. Of course I am still a wet dog and I have to share the wealth with everyone and usually mom or dad are telling me to get in the back seat. They seem a little upset that I am getting them a little damp.
Back at home there are rituals that must be followed. First I am the one who brings my leash into the house and into the livingroom where I deposit it on the rug. then there is the removal of my collar and the drying. The drying feels so good!
Then there is the trip to the grass where the 50 gallons of water I drank while I played in the water is deposited.
Finally there is my nap..... maybe I do mean "Good Morning".
