Summer?

It is summer. It is time for us to lay in the sun in the morning and the shade all afternoon. It is the season of the creek walks and chasing all manner of birds. The problem is that we have only had a pawful of sunny days and more rain than is doggy acceptable.
Mom and dad have been taking me to the river to play in the water but the water level has been high and the places I used to play last year are deep. I don't want to swim so they are really out of my way.
Dad and mom have greated some more fun for me at the river though. I have discovered that jumping on logs and walking them is kind of fun. It is really fun when I am near the water and can get mom and dad wet and sandy. I have one log that is really fun. It is about 4 feet off the ground on one side and maybe 3 on the other. I like the fact that it is close to the water and there is plenty of dry sand for me to dig in.
I think I will try to talk dad into taking me there this afternoon......
