I love the river. It is the greatest place to be other than in the kitchen when mom and grandma are cooking. There is so much to do and so many smells, it is great!
The water is next to the sand and I don't have to run down a bank to get in. There is also a never ending supply of sticks. I have to say that the river is nothing but pure doggy bliss FUN!
The only real drawbacks at the river is that there are people and big boats that I am not overly crazy about. The big boats make big waves that bother my wading and the people want to talk to me and pet me. I really am not much of a people dog as most people don't really understand me and they come without the great offering of doggy treats. I mean, after all I am a DOG!
Yesterday, mom and dad took me to the river and allowed me to dog it for a while. I played with another dog for a while and after he and his friends left, I ran and played in the water. Mom and dad collected some drift wood and put it in the back of dad's rig and played with me some more.
Then came time to go home. this was a experience that I have never had before. Mom put me on the floor in front of her in the front seat. Bad part, not enough room for a 90 pound dog like myself to move around and it was really uncomfortable. Good part, I got to sit with mom and dad and there were some new ways of seeing things that I didn't know about. I didn't know that the car goes forward, from what I have seen in the past, I thought that it went sideways and backwards.
I also didn't realize how long it takes mom to get out of the car. I mean, I wanted out and her leg was in my way, so I just went. And some how I got out without dragging her out too.
Well, I need to start watching for dad out the front window. I know that he is really excited to see me when he gets home and if I didn't come out and walk him to the house he might get lost before I get my walk.
