The other day we had UNANNOUNCED visitors. By unannounced visitors, I mean that they snuck into my yard and proceeded to annoy me with their presence.
Let me set this straight for you, the yards, both front and back, the gardens, I mean ALL the gardens, the driveway, creek and everything on the other side of the creek and what ever else I deem mine is mine! Not that I am selfish, no I do share my domain with mom, dad and grandma, but other animals do not belong in my areas.
So when these three upstart intruders come into my bathroom/ back yard and start eating plants, well... whats a dog to do.
I have a hate of sneaky deer. They are quiet and they give you no warning at all when they are going to be in the yard or anywhere else. Case in point; When we moved up into where we are living now, or as mom calls it "the giant doghouse", dad took me out one evening late to go to the bathroom. The lights were on and I could see everything that was not in the shadows. Well that was about 5 percent of my bathroom area, the rest being dark and in the shadows. I was squatted down concentrating on my business when out of no where a deer materialized. It literally appeared out of thin air. I almost forgot what I was doing.
Anyway, this thing came up BEHIND me and sniffed me. I mean really. Here I am all hunkered down building a log cabin and this thing slips up and tries to give me a heart attack. After a lot of yelling and screaming, she moved along.
I thought that maybe she got the message but it became apparent to me that she didn't when the rest of her family joined her on regular visits to the apple trees, which I really hated because the apples make great, juicy balls for me to chase. So after a while I had to put my paw down with them.
Sometime in December, the family stopped coming by to visit. Good riddance! Until this week then three of the buggers showed up. Hey, I guess they didn't get the message so I was forced to tell them again, leave and don't come back. I don't know if they really understood or were just humoring me. Time will tell.
