SPRING, oh yeah!
I am not sure about what is going on, but the past two weeks my Dad has been home and I have been hanging with him. Last week we went to the beach. Three days of running in the ocean, chasing birds and making new friends, not the people type either.
This week my dad has been using loud stuff around the house that I really don't like. They make so much noise that a dog is hardly able to talk to his dad. I just wait until he turns them off, then I tell him that it would be a good time to go to the river. Someday he will listen to me, but lately he has waited for mom then taken me to the river.
A couple of days ago the house was full of people. These people brought my favorite kid to play with me. Grandma made good smelling food that no one shared with me no matter how cute I tried to be. I think there was a conspiracy to keep the kids from sliping me food.
It has been sunny and warm here for the last two weeks and it has been weather that I, the Coal dog, likes because I can restart my solar pannels after the long, cold dreary and wet Winter. Dad washed off the pavement so I have all this room to lay and get warm. He also has been keeping the yards mowed so I have places to run and ...well, you know. It is great!
Everyone is up and around here so I had better start my morning routine of trying to go do something Coalie fun. Have a fun Spring everyone.

Snow
Snow, a black dog on a field of white. The black dog would be me. It started snowing Saturday night when dad came home from work and it kept it up until yesterday when i went out for my morning relief and couldn't find the yard. It is cold, and for some reason mom and dad don't like to go on walks in it. Maybe because it is cold and wet.
Dad did take me for one walk on Monday and I got to wear my vest and it was warm. dad did take me today too, but it was raining today, I didn't wear my vest and all I really got was cold and wet. I kind of miss spring and summer when it is warm and we spend long days at the beach playing in the water.
It is bed time for me, so I guess I can dream about the summer in the water.

Happy New Year
T'was the night before New Year and all through the house, all my peoples were snoring and I think even a mouse. Dads socks lay just were he had flung them, hoping in the morning that he can find them. My bones were all scattered all around my bed, while my stomach wondered when it last was fed. And dad in his Breathright and mom and her Kindle had just settled themselves for a full night sleep.
When out in the night there arose such a racket, I ran from my bed and tripped over the garbage basket. The light from the moon through the skylights gave odd shadows all through the room. Then what to my wild immagination doth appear, but an intruder in the shape of a sneaky big deer. With really big antlers and those sneaking hoofs, I knew that no sleep would be had this night. Without a sound or a smell he moved, but deep in my ears I think I heard every step.
As I ran around moms side of the queen sized bed, A loud bang rang through the house. The banging and booming, the horns they did honk, boy I am tired and just wishing to zonk.
I jumped on the bed and went straight to work, burrying myself dad turned with a jerk. "Danged it Coal, you better need to go potty." he mumbled, dragging on sweats. Then scratching the Breathright off of his nose, grabbing a flashlight to the door he does go. And I heard him exclain as he walked out of sight "come on dog, we could have had a cat".

Merry Christmas
I wonder what is going on at my house. There are lights and a tree in the Livingroom and I am being invaded by inflating snowpeople that I really can't bark at because they are about as tall as Grandma, the bisket giver. Mom and dad have been wrapping all sorts of things in paper including things doggy. You really don't have to wrap those things for me just hand them over and things will be great. I really can SMELL what is in the packages!
Mom isn't home much now and I really don't understand that and neither is dad but I know when dad gets home I get my walk! I noticed on those walks that there are lots of houses with colored lights on them...to each their own.
It is warm here this year and we haven't got any of the fun white stuff on the ground but we do have deer that show up in broad daylight that I can bark at.
Grandma, the bisket giver has just left so I had better go check out the tree and smell all the wonderful dog things there.....

Why can't I go for a walk everyday?
It has been cold and rainy but I don't understand why I don't get taken for a walk every day. It isn't as if I demand so much, I mean that the only demands I have are scratching me, keeping my food bowl full and my water dishes clean and full, share your meals with me, brush me, wash my bedding every so often, take me to the bathroom and clean up after me, let me sample what you are fixiing for dinner, give me treats, let me sit next to you on the couch and take me for a walk.
I know that both my mom and dad work, what ever that is, but I need my walks at the river. How else will I know what is going on in the dog world.

Fall, Already?
I do not understand this weather. It seems that yesterday it was so hot outside that my paws fried on the pavement and today it rained and the wind blew. It makes going out to go potty kind of miserable as my paws get muddy in the mole hills.
Mom and dad took me to the river this morning after yesterdays failed attempt, to let me run my excess energy off. It was all funa nd games until a hanger on yellowjacket buzzed me and I had a flashback to being swarmed a couple years ago. those bugs bother me to no end.
But mom and dad kept walking me and after a few dips in the river and a romp with another lab, I was fine. I must say that this other Lab kept up with me and I was the one dragging tail.
I noticed that I haven't been writing on here much lately. It has been a trying month for my humans and mom is now working. I really don't understand why she can't consider me a job and stay home but she can't. And dad is still working even though he has had a few weeks here and there that he is home.
Dad took me to the vet last week and it was not a fun trip. They wanted me to get on this thing that dad called a scale, it scared the pee out of me. Then this lady decided that she wanted to be my friend. She scared the poop out of me. Dad kind of got mad at me for it but I say "Poop happens!", so get over it. Then this lady handled me and poked and prodded then stabbed me with a sharp thing. I don't like that place at all.
I had better get off here to go tpotty before the rain starts again.
